Comprehensive applicant screening powered by Discord data analysis and cross-organization history tracking
Our background check system helps gaming organizations make informed decisions when reviewing recruitment applications. By analyzing Discord account data and platform history, we provide a comprehensive risk assessment for each applicant.
All applicants are informed about the background check process and must consent via Discord OAuth before any data is collected. Manual applications without Discord authentication do not receive background checks.
Applicants choose between Discord OAuth (recommended) or manual entry. Discord OAuth provides the data needed for background checks, while manual entry only collects Discord username and email without verification.
When Discord OAuth is used, we collect the following information with the applicant's explicit consent:
We search our database for the applicant's Discord ID to identify their history across all organizations using our platform. This reveals previous memberships, roles held, and any suspensions or removals.
Our algorithm calculates a risk score (0-100) and assigns a risk level (Low, Medium, or High) based on various factors. Organization admins receive a detailed report to inform their decision.
Our risk assessment algorithm evaluates multiple factors to calculate a comprehensive risk score. Points are assigned based on specific criteria:
Newer accounts may indicate ban evasion or lack of commitment to the platform.
Very low server participation may indicate a new or inactive account.
Poor security practices may indicate compromised or throwaway accounts.
Connected accounts (Steam, Xbox, etc.) help verify the user's gaming identity and commitment.
History of suspensions or removals from other organizations on our platform is a significant red flag.

Background checks should inform your decision, not make it for you. Consider the applicant's responses to custom questions, interview performance, and other relevant factors. A high-risk score doesn't automatically disqualify someone.
Understand the context behind risk factors. A new account might belong to a legitimate new Discord user. Few servers could mean the applicant is selective about communities. Always review the full picture.
If you have concerns, consider reaching out to the applicant for clarification. They may have legitimate explanations for flags in their background check. Communication builds trust and helps you make better decisions.
Background check data is sensitive. Only share it with authorized organization leaders who need to review applications. Do not publicly disclose or misuse this information. Treat all applicants with respect and dignity.
Use background checks fairly and consistently. Do not use the system to discriminate based on protected characteristics. Focus on legitimate gaming community concerns like past behavioral issues or security risks.
Keep records of why you approved or rejected applicants. This helps maintain consistency, provides transparency, and protects your organization if decisions are questioned. The system provides a notes field for this purpose.
We take the privacy and security of background check data seriously:
Applicants must authorize Discord OAuth to share their data. They see exactly what permissions are requested.
All background check data is encrypted and stored securely in our MongoDB database with strict access controls.
Only organization owners and admins can view background check results. The data is not shared with third parties.
Background check data is used solely for recruitment decisions. It is not used for marketing, analytics, or other purposes.
Applicants are clearly informed about what data is collected and how it will be used before they consent.
Start using our comprehensive background check system to make informed decisions about applicants and build a safer, more trustworthy gaming community.
